Your Online Public Speaker Checklist
✔️ Set yourself up for success when you use this handy checklist BEFORE you start your online presentation or virtual meeting:
Test your equipment: Before your presentation, log on early enough to test your video and microphone settings. Be sure you have a strong internet connection (Use fast.com to check your speed) or use an ethernet cable connection.
Be sure to place your camera at eye level: You want to appear at eye level on your monitor screen to your audience, not tilted upward or downward. To do this, you can use a laptop stand, an external camera on a tripod, or prop up your recorder on a stack of books to position yourself at eye level.
Center yourself in your frame: You want to center yourself and take up about 3/4 of your screen, with just a little space between the crown of your head and the top of the monitor view.
