You are more experienced than you think
Here's why...
Hello Speaker,
Today, we are debunking the myth that public speaking only counts when you give a TEDx Talk or speak behind a lectern.
We practice public speaking in a variety of ways, from softly reading aloud a bedtime story to engaging in a lively conversation at a dinner party; each time you speak in public is an opportunity to strengthen your speaking skills and increase your confidence.
Too often, women downplay their ability to speak in public because of what a traditional speaker looks and sounds like.
So how do we increase our speaking impact?
By understanding that each time you speak up, you strengthen your abilities.
By listening and supporting other women to speak up as well in meetings or conversations.
By believing that each spoken interaction is an opportunity to practice and become more self-assured.
Try this exercise to discover the ways you engage in public speaking in your daily life.
You’ll see that you are more experienced than you think.
